Book marketing and analysis of competition for a memoir?

how can i find out how many copies of certain published books have sold, sales figues, etc, and other relavent data in analysing their commercial success?

That depends on what it is and who the distributor is. I have a phone number to get sales figures for one of the main distributors in America, but it isn't anything I could post here. Pax-C
